LEGALIZE and REALIZE
by: cody koda
A issue I feel very strongly is legalization of marijuana. Or other street names for it such as ganja, bud, buddha, weed , grass, cryp. I can give you many facts about this single drug and almost all of them have been proven to be correct.
First of all it shouldnt even be considered a drug , you may not know but it saves many peoples lives by being prescribed to patients rather than to have prescription drugs. Prescription drugs have killed more people than marijuana because there has been ZERO marijuana related deaths in the united states."783,936 people in the United States die every year from conventional medicine mistakes." said Drs. Gary Null, Carolyn Dean, Martin Feldman, Debora Rasio and Dorothy Smith. Also there are thousands of people if not millions that are medical marijuana certified patients.
As of now there are 13 states that have legalized marijuana and most have medical marijuana dispensaries where the patients can go and pick out which strain of marijuana and for what symtoms they have. Different types of marijuana help certain pain or disorders. Like a indica weed will help if you cant sleep and that would be recommended more for pain killing because it is a strong high more like a couchlock kind of thing. A sativa would help with migraines and athritis but a high will not seem as strong and wont last as long as a indica high. The states that legalized medical marijuana are hawaii, alaska, california, colorado, maine, michigan,
montana, nevada, new mexico, oregon, washington, rhode island, and vermont.
Sate laws specify that marijuana can be used for help treating disorders such as arthritis, cachexia, cancer, chronic nervous system disorders, chronic pain, Crohn's disease, epilepsy and other seizure disorders, glaucoma, HIV or AIDS, multiple sclerosis and other muscle spasticity disorders, and help patients cope with severe migraines, severe nausea, and the side effects of chemotherapy. It helps people live longer lives rather than having to take dangerous prescription drugs .
It is so easy to obtain this drug that children at the age of ten are using this drug . Most of them doing it to get "stoned" and others just to have the adrenaline of knowing they are doing something illegal.
The short term effects of using trouble thinking and problem solving, memory loss, dry mouth and throat, distorts perception. Most short term effects wear off within two to three hours. The thc will linger in your body for a week if you smoke occasionally and longer depending how much time you use the drug weekly or daily. Long term effects are memory loss, Impaired perception,
Diminished short-term memory ,Loss of concentration and coordination ,Impaired judgement,Increased risk of accidents ,Loss of motivation ,Diminished inhibitions ,Increased heart rate Anxiety, panic attacks, and paranoia Hallucinations Damage to the respiratory, reproductive, and immune systems ,Increased risk of cancer ,Psychological dependency.
Marijuana is five times better than ciggarettes because there are no chemicals its all natural . Marijuana is a weed and it grows like a weed .There are no additives to it , its just plain and simple . One marijuana joint is equivalent to five tobacco ciggarettes. And there is no such thing to overdose on marijuana unlike other prescribed drugs.
With the bad economy now if marijuana were to get taxed the united states would be bringing in money by the millions. If you think about it it will also hurt all the illegal drugdealers because people wouldnt come to them anymore because marijuana would be able to be found everywhere if it were to be legalized. Right now this is where all the money is being invested illegally so if it were legal it would be easy money for the united states. Also it would give alot more people jobs and it would be easy to open buisnesses.
To be safer when you smoke you can invest in a vaporizer which heats the weed at such a high temperature that it instantly turns to vapor and it all goes into a bag that you just inhale through. This helps because you dont inhale smoke so it wont mess up your lungs.
well I think if weed were to be legalized the economy would be alot better and medical marijuana patients would continue getting better help rather than pills.

journal #9 (perks of being a wallflower)
the book i read was a coming of age because it shows charlie growing up through high school . hanging out with friends going to parties, doing drugs , and smoking. And he is thinking about sex and liking sam . and he is trying to get more mature so he could go out with her because she told him he was to young for her. also he was finding out what older kids act like like when he says that dave raped that girl. He started doing drugs because thats usually how people fit in by doing all the things everyone else does. charlie changed alot from the start of the book because he was a good kid and now he is thinking about sex alot and doing drugs and drinking alot of beer.

journal #4
for my college experience i hope to get a good job and learn about things that i would need to know in order to get a good stable job. I also hope to meet new people and see their thoughts about college and their future. and i would want to try and keep on task and do all my homework and pass it and get a college degree.
i dont really know what college i would want to go but, i was thinking maybe like one in california . But i might not have the money for that. so i will probably end up going to lcc or a community college. i have visited colleges when i went on trips such as unlv, and some others in reno , washington , and oregon, and new york.
i havent really heard much about the colleges but they are supposedly all good colleges. i would need to do some research so i can make up my mind of which college i would like to attend.
thats pretty much as much as i know about colleges and stuff.

My Passion
All my life since I was four years old I really wanted a real skateboard. After looking foward to each holiday I was wondering when I was ever going to recieve a skateboard. So as the years went by I still didnt get one. On this particular christmas I had a feeling that I was going to get my skateboard this time. So I thought my mom was acting a little suspicious while wrapping all the presents because I Knew most of them were hidden. After I noticed most of them were hidden i had that idea of a skateboard being one of my gifts pop into my head.
I was six years old and it was christmas morning.I stayed up in anxiousness all christmas eve wondering what i was going to recieve this christmas. So I wake up to my very high pitch alarm clock at 8:00AM .First thing i did was go straight for the christmas tree to see what i got.I arrive at the tree at approximately 8:01 and im suprised and greeted with my first actual skateboard. All i could do was stand on it and instantly I felt the skateboard become a big part of my life.I was already outside riding it before anyone even woke up.
The reason I wanted a skateboard was because many of my family members rode skateboards while I was growing up. People that did encourage me were my cousins Joshua and Michael . Also my uncle Wade which owns Bloodline used to always take us to the skateparks and stuff to watch people skate and to just be in a skateboarding environment. He was actually the person who bought me my first Listen skateboard ,with spitfire wheels, abec 7 bearings and thunder trucks on it. I was happy to see that my uncle bought it for me because he knows what is good and whats not because he skates.
I was very happy and felt so much like it was never going to leave my side. And it never did and never will. to this day that board is still sitting in my shed.Skateboarding is always going to have its own spot in my brain and heart.
